EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A large fire in Alpine, Texas, appeared to destroy several businesses and closed down a major road in the town in Brewster County, according to the Texas Department of Transportation El Paso via its X account.
U.S. 67 East and West were closed down from miles 908 to 910 because of the fire, TxDOT said.

The fire was about a block east of the historic Holland Hotel in Alpine.
Clearing time on the roadway is until further notice.
Alpine is about 200 miles southeast of El Paso.
